In Spessa, near Cividale, on the Colli Orientali del Friuli, the Ronchi San Giuseppe winery run by the Zorzettig family, tells of three generations who, throughout the post-war period and beginning with grandfather Pietro, have cultivated vineyards on this wonderful land.

Nowadays, the farm is a meeting point, a symbol of excellence, between traditional and modern viniculture. For the Zorzettig family, remaining sensitive and attentive to past values equates with remaining faithful to certain production developments which require, where necessary, wood and ageing in barrels, and dedicating particular attention to indigenous cultivation.

Therefore, species of grape which were once only for local consumption, like Schioppettino among the red wines and Ribolla Gialla among the white wines, have now been recovered for new implantations.
