Description
Our firm is located in Colli Orientali del Friuli.
This hilly area allows us to obtain high quality wines, thanks to the homogeneity of its terrain (clay – grey marl), the exposure of the vineyards at a 30-35% slope and the influence of the microclimate. The preceding generations of our family always worked in viniculture field. Even now, the family-style running allows for a more accurate and meticulous processing of the product. The firm’s area planted with vines is around 8 hectares.
From the 1998 vintage year, we began to revamp the old vineyards, increasing the density of vines per hectare, using the pruning technique called "Guiot", a horizontal vine-shoot of 50 cm in length per vine (around 6 buds). This reduces the quantity of grapes per vine which guarantees a higher maturation and sugar content and, as a consequence, a superior quality. The harvesting is done completely by hand, the ‘passitos’, among them Picolit, Tocai Passito, "Grisiole", Falcon Rosso, are arranged in layers on aired crates for the grape drying which lasts around 40-45 days when done naturally.
The wine we produce today is sold directly to the consumer at a suitable price-quality ratio.
