The trail (C.A.I. 625) goes upwards alongside the ski-lift. Once in the spruce woods, you proceed along a moderate rise until reaching the open pasture of Cregnedul di Sopra (1515 m.). The pasture, which is no longer used for grazing, has a reduced area, which is now partially colonised by shrubs and infesting species such as the juniper, mountain pine and willows. From here, westwards, across the comfortable natural road (trail C.A.I. 624) you take the highland traverse through an old pasture, which initially is woody. The route is completely flat and allows to look out over the surrounding mountain range of the Canin Massif taking advantage of the unique beauty. After a short trip the Casera Larice is reached (1479 m.) and then the Casera Parte di mezzo (1530 m.), which is still used for grazing. From here, by leaving the road, you go up to the right towards the di Brazzà shelter (trail C.A.I. 622) located in a domineering position on the highland (1660 m.). The shelter, which is a reference point for excursionists is named after Count Giacomo Savorgnan di Brazzà Cergneu , a naturalist and geographer, one of the first alpine mountaineers in Friuli and after whom the normal road to Montasio is named. From here the main climbs start to the surrounding peaks, among which the Jof di Montasio , Cima di Terrarossa , Foronon and Modeon del Buinz and Cregnedul . From the shelter, the same small trail is taken downwards. Proceed up to the road, which has previously been left. From here go down to Sella Nevea across the asphalt road.
