Itinerary  Lower Lake - Upper Lake - Alpe del Lago - Sella Colrotondo - Alpe del Lago - A.V.A.T - Lower Lake:  Time required  4 hours Degree of difficulty Excursional Rest areas  The three chalets on the lakes  You take the  Lake Trail   and hike through a sort of "a cross-section of the surroundings", following an itinerary that goes along the banks of the lakes, then up to the  Alpe del Lago  and the scenic road of  Sella Colrotondo then return through the forest, up to the minor lakes and back to the starting point . In fact, you go from   a coniferous forest   that surrounds the sheets of water to a beech wood towards Colrotondo, from the previously mentioned Alpe mountain pasture to the majestic  erratic blocks   of the moraines to the limpid waters of the lakes to the imposing rock faces of the  Mangart . The trail can be easily completed in one day ; if the hike ends in the evening you will have the privilege of enjoying the exclusive and suggestive nuances of a sunset on the lakes . From the  Lower Lake  (924 m.) on a trail through the woods to the  Upper Lake  (929 m.). Along the trail you can admire the imposing size of the erratic blocks. After having passed the Upper Lake and a had a rest at the chalet, you follow the trail for 250 metres, then you go right  at the fork    and follow the cart-road up to  Alpe del Lago  (1006 m.). The scenery is beautiful and you walk along the edge of the wood and the meadows . At the Alpe you have a mountain hut, a large barn, a drinking trough and a pasture with typical herbage. From here, you follow  trail mark 514-515  and in just over an hour you reach an altitude of 1400 metres  and Sella Colrotondo . The woods are king. From the Sella you continue along the trail to Alpe del Lago. At 942 metres, at the fork with the trail of  Alta Via Alpi Tarvisiane  (A.V.A.T.) you follow the route to the  Lower Lake , the departure point of the hike .
