Sella Nevea

Sella Nevea, Italian fortifications of Mounts Jof di Montasio, Cregnedul, Robon and Cima Confine  (First World War). In the Sella Nevea sector, the divisions of the two armies faced each other to take possession of the summits of the Julian Alps that controlled val Rio del Lago and the area of Lago del Predil. At the end of 1915 the Italian posts ran along the Jof di Montasio, Mount Cregnedul, val Rio del Lago and Mount Robon lines. Those of the Austrian-Hungarians ran along the cime Castrein, val Rio del Lago and cima Mogenza piccola lines. Following the defeat of Caporetto, an enemy column descended from Mount Rombon above Plezzo across Sella Prevala to Sella Nevea and val Raccolana reaching Chiusaforte.
