Pontebba

Pontebba-Pietratagliata, Defensive works of San Rocco di Pietratagliata  (First World War). The mouth of Canal del Ferro south of Pontebba was garrisoned by two groups of constructions on both slopes of the valley: the barrage of San Rocco, located along the ridge, which from the outlying ward of Piani descends towards the Fella and, about a kilometre further downstream, in line with the crossroads for Pietratagliata and the barrage works of Ponte di Cristo located above the two roads that run alongside the river and near the railway line.

In the Pontebba sector, the divisions of the two armies faced each other, with great patrolling actions, to take control of Val Pontebbana, Valle del rio Bombaso and Val Fella. At the end of 1915 the Italian posts ran along the Cuel di Ierbis, Mount Glazzat, Studena alta, Mount Fortin, Clap Forat, Mount Poccet, Sella Bieliga, Mount Sechieiz and Forcella Cuel Tarond line. Those of the Austrians ran along the Creta di Aip, Mount Cavallo di Pontebba, Monti Malvuerich alto and basso, Mount Bruca, Mount Brizzia, Malga Cucco.

Pontebba-Passo Pramollo, Defensive Works of the Passo Pramollo road  (Second World War) The constructions to defend the Passo Pramollo road, called the Tratte barrage, was at six kilometres from Pontebba. The posts were completed by an anti-tank cut-out in the road bed. Some barracks, which are still in good condition are located near the pass.
