Church of S.Gottardo - Lusnizza

The building was consecrated by the vicar-general of Aquileia in 1450, but there is mention of the existing of a chapel back in 1436. In 1660 it was restored by Gabriele dei Canal of Malborghetto, an entrepreneur of the local metallurgical forges. It was heavily damaged both in the First World War, as well as in the 1976 earthquake. Preserved within the church are three wooden altars, the major altar, with small statues of the Saints Gottardo, Caterina and Barbara dates back to the late sixteenth century, the side altar is enriched with an altarpiece showing the Charity of S. Martin (1642) by Giovanni Snaidero of Venzone; the third altar, of the eighteenth century, shows Christ resurrected.
