A sport that is practised in unspoilt natural surroundings, where flora and fauna flourish nearby, is sure to have many ways of bringing a sense of fulfilment. Golf provides all of these things in a relatively small area.

At present the Julian Alps can boast only one golf course, at Bled, but with 27 holes, it is one of the most attractive in Europe. Other courses within fairly easy reach can be found at Volcji potok (Ljubljana) and Tarvisio (Italy), while there are a number of courses around the lakes of Carinthia in Austria, and practice courses at Kranjska Gora and Bovec.
