Fishing
Standing on the bank, or wearing waders in mid-stream, we wait for the duel to begin. Fishing is both art and passion. The wise live in harmony with nature. It’s a question of balance!
Fishing is one of the "elite" sports available to tourists in this region. Lake Bohinj, and the Soca, Lepenjica, Idrijca, Baca, Sava and Radovna rivers provide over 200 kilometres of first class fishing waters. The only permitted method is fly fishing; the most widespread species are trout and grayling. The Soca, in particular, is known for its trout, a native species widespread in the northern Mediterranean basins. The fishing waters are carefully managed by associations from Tolmin, Bohinj, Bled, and Jesenice, and by the Ljubljana Fishing Office.
