Carving, as well as developments in all skiing equipment have led to progressively shorter skis with wider profiles that make it easier to carve into the snow and negotiate curves, thus increasing the pleasures of skiing. The ski schools of the Tarvisio area and Sella Nevea run regular instruction courses with this kind of equipment.
