Refosco di Faedis

The first records of this grape’s cultivation come from Torreano and Faedis, in the Province of Udine. It produces a deep ruby nervous wine of high tannin and moderate alcohol content, with a unique fruity perfume offering clear hints of raspberry and blackberry and a suggestion of herbs. It needs time to mature; with age it mellows and becomes more refined, developing a pleasing bitterness and a full bouquet on a goudron base. This is a wine to partner food, particularly recommended with the typical Friulian cuisine, and should be served at room temperature.
