Flowers

As many as the stars To describe all the flowers and the plants found in the meadows, forests and pastures of the Tarvisio area would be like counting the stars in the sky, as there are so many. It is surprising to observe during the flowering period how many plant species cover even the smallest clods of earth in the sea of stone or in the small and large meadows. Nature presents coloured patches of flowers along the trails and on the edge of the woods. We can see multicoloured flowering on the sunny slopes up high in the mountain. The mixed woods, being brighter especially in spring - or before the leaves have appeared on the beech - has an underbrush full of herbaceous plants with bright and coloured flowers. These colours have to attract insects, as they have to complete their vegetative cycle quickly before being left in the shade by the leafy cover.
