The unspoilt forests contain an astonishing and dazzling variety of flower species adorning the meadows, the sunlit slopes and the undergrowth, as well as age-old trees of incomparable majesty. A walk in the woods may bring a chance sighting of local wildlife along any one of the many tracks that mountain lovers can enjoy.

Cheeses and other traditional products are produced in the Alpine dairy buildings known as malghe, which are still used to tend cattle. Like the villages, whose history is written in the ancient local architecture, in culinary traditions, and in the preservation of time-honoured customs, they provide a memorable sensory experience.
