Winters in the Tarvisiano region mean snow in abundance and breathtaking scenery, and may last from November to late April in the broad open valleys.

With Carinthia and Slovenia close by, visitors can truly enjoy a holiday of boundless opportunity.

In any Slovenian town an encounter with nature is no more than a few steps away. The country is criss-crossed by a dense network of footpaths, suitable for weekend walkers and experienced hikers alike.

As well as the numerous themed and educational trails, the paths through environmental parks, circular routes near the cities and around lakes, easy strolls along rivers, through woodlands and in mountain meadows, there are myriad Alpine tracks to explore. Many hikers are drawn to European Footpaths E6 and E7, covering a total distance of around 950 kilometres.
