The Moraca (or Moraza) is one of the most magical parts of Subît, a hushed valley containing a sea of cyclamens, with clefts in the rock where, according to legend, the witch Juana makes her home and prepares a foul minestrone for kidnapped children. If we stop and listen awhile, we can almost feel her presence there in the silence among the rocks that rise from the earth...We shall learn about toxic plants on this route, from the ubiquitous cyclamen to saffron, from laburnum and lily of the valley to clematis, plants that often produce gorgeous flowers in one of those anomalies so common to nature and life.
